HALLOWEEN 2013

On Halloween Night we went to Randy & Kim's. The little kids went trick or treating for a while, while the grown ups with no children were gathering.

Nemo was the 1st trick or treater back.

We ate Chili, Chicken Enchilada Soup chips and Halloween Candy.

I brought some Vampire Donuts for dessert.

Lori tried on the fangs.

As with any other family gathering there was lots of visiting.

CRYSTAL GARDENS WARD TRUNK OR TREAT Oct 26, 2013

October 26 was the Crystal Garden Ward Fall Festival. It started with a chili cook off which was followed by a trunk or treat. Hunter and Jordyn came with us.

 

Hunter was an injured skateboarder, Jordyn was a witch.

Jordyn with the help or her Aunts (Leanne & I) decorated our trunk.

The best part of the decorations was the noise activated spider, that just randomly dropped down.

BOOK SIGNING LATTER DAY COTTAGE OCTOBER 26, 2013

On Saturday Oct 26 I took the opportunity to go to Mesa for the day. My 1st stop was the Mesa Temple to get Temple Ready Cards to get Dad's temple work done.
After I left the temple I headed over to Latter Day Cottage Books for a book signing. Carolyn Adams Hanchett introduced her new book THE BLOG PART 2. (I have read it since that day and highly recommend it- a review will be on my other blog soon.)

I had a good time visiting with Carolyn for a couple of hours.

The other author there was Jacque Wick author of A TO Z COOKBOOK FOR KIDS. She set up outside so she wasn't as readily available to chat with.
All in all it was a fun afternoon.

 

ANN ROMNEY BOOK SIGNING

On Oct 8 Changing Hands Bookstore hosted a book signing with Ann Romney, for her new book The Romney Family Table. It was a different kind of book signing than I have ever been too. There were long lines, and a ticket was required to be in the line. Mrs. Romney spent about 20 seconds signing each book and talking to each person. I'm used to less organized book signings where you walk in and visit.

 Despite the differences it was a fun experience to meet Ann Romney,

 

ICE CREAM BREAD

There are a lot of recipes on Facebook, some look good and are, some look good and aren't. This is one that I probably won't make again. For all its ease of assembly the flavor was disappointing.

Grease and flour loaf pan.

Mix 1 3/4 C Self Rising Flour

2 Cups Ice Cream full fat any flavor

Bake at 350 for 55 minutes or until its fully baked.

FAMILY HISTORY SATURDAY

A few months ago we decided we needed to work harder to break our brick walls down. We got together at Lori's house on September 21 to see if we could make some progress.

Of course as with any family gathering, we had food to help our progress.

We had the help of Sister Beeson Lori's ward Family History Consultant again.

LABOR DAY AT RANDY AND KIM'S

On Labor Day we gathered at Randy & Kim's for a pool party and cook out. Some of us just hung out and visited.

The kids had fun on the trampoline with water jets in it.

There was some crafting during conversation.

The kids had fun jumping off the ledge.

JUSTIN, MICHELLE, LINKIN & PARKER

Justin & Michelle's home was the last visit of the day. I had only seen Linkin & Parker once in a restaurant last fall. It fun to see them in their "natural habitat" and to get to know Michelle a little better. Most of the pictures of the boys are blurry. The rarely stopped moving.

Aunt Dolores wanted a picture of me with the twins, but this is the best we could manage.

Michelle wanted a picture of Justin running the vacuum cleaner.

A SURPRISE VISIT TO DAVE AND VOYANNE'S

Sunday, after church in my former Ward, I went to Uncle David's house. We were heading out to see Justin, Michelle and the boys and later David, Marie & Rheece.
Since Dave flies out on Sunday for work out of town I didn't think I would get to see him & Voyanne this trip.
At the last minute we decided to stop by to see if we could say a quick Hi. We were able to catch them and Rheece.
