TOLLESON GROUNDBREAKING

This is the church building in Tolleson where the Tolleson Ward met. I attended there for close to 10 years.
Until June 29, 2012, when an arsonist set fire to our building.
On Saturday March 16, 2013 after 9 months of waiting, we were able to attend the groundbreaking for the new building.
In attendance was the Stake Presidency, the Bishops of the 3 wards that met there, city officials, the fire department and ward and stake members.
There were some short speeches, I don't remember the speakers names, with the exception of President Waldron. (And I apologize for the sound, it isn't great).

The 1st shovels of dirt was turned by the 3 Bishops, The stake RS President, the City official, the Stake Presidency and Clayre Jones, who is the widow of the 1st Stake President.
Once the official groundbreaking was finished it was opened up for Stake Members and especially the children to have a turn.
Construction is due to start April 8, the building will be finished by April 8, 2014.

HATS, HATS AND MORE HATS EQUAL SERVICE

I moved to a new Ward in January. One of the things the Relief Society does is a service project one evening a month. In February the project was crocheted hats. Anyone that knows me knows I will jump at the chance to do anything crocheted. A lot of the sisters who attended didn't know to crochet, but they had a desire to learn and help. It was fun to watch and help them learn.
These are some of my creations:
