MAY 31--JUNE 1 VACATION

I worked 10 hour days for 2 days after Memorial Day so that I could leave work early on Thursday May 31. I got on the road north by 10 AM. With the later than normal start I planned to stop in Beaver, Ut for the night. The Super 8 in Beaver was my 1st stop for the trip. it was very comfortable, even though the TV choices were abysmal.
I left for Salt Lake City a little after 9 AM the next day and went up to Uncle David and Aunt Dolores's house.
We visited for a while and then went to Sizzler for a late lunch.
After lunch we went to the Deer Cemetery to see the deer and other critters.
After a couple of hours of playing Phase 10 and talking yo Justin in California,we went to Dave and Voyanne's to see them and to see David and his boys Rheece and Riley. We were also able to meet his fiance Marie. They are getting married today (June 9).

WHAT DO YOU DO?

What do you do if everyone at work is supposed to wear Red White and Blue and you don't own one thing in those colors?
Make a scrunchie of course!

THERESA SNEED BOOK SIGNING

Last Saturday I went into Mesa to the Latter-Day Cottage Bookstore. Theresa Sneed was having a pre-launch Book Signing, for her new book Earthbound. I haven't read it yet, but I'm sure it will be every bit as good as No Angel. The official book launch will be at the same store on May 31 with Betsy Love.
This is the cover and description of Earthbound.
Heaven used to be such a perfect place . . .
As the time draws near for the first spirits to leave their home in heaven, a group of rebellious dissenters begins to appear at every blue-planet planning meeting, demanding that all mortals are ruled by compulsory choice, instead of having the freedom to choose for themselves.
Daniel is a courageous Freedom Fighter who vehemently opposes the No Choice movement. Sophie is impressed by his strong desire to do what’s right . . . and by his intense blue eyes. But she also has a strange attraction to the handsome and ostentatious Coe, a leader of the No Choice movement, who has his sights on her and will stop at nothing to claim her as his  own.
You can find this book at www.amazon.com, Deseret Books, and Barnes and Noble.

SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR

During May the wonderful world of the Scholastic Warehouse in Phoenix has been open for people to come and shop. I always enjoy a trip to that magical land.
Everything in the warehouse is at least 50% off and there are coupons for additional money off if you spend enough money.
I was so interested in looking at all the books that I forgot to take any more pictures.

This is a small portion of what I bought,Leanne was there too and has a box full of books. Total cost for both of us $150 total est value of the books $500.
The sale goes on until May 25 for anyone that wants to attend.

LOST FRIENDS

Last week was a bad week, I lost 3 friends to death. At times like this I am glad for the knowledge that death isn't the end, but just a new beginning.
The darkness of death, however, can ever be dispelled by the light of revealed truth.
“I am the resurrection, and the life,” spoke the Master. “He that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
“And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.”1  From a talk by Thomas S Monson
This is Wanda (Stimson) Wittaker, we went to  High School together. I saw her at our class reunion last November. It was good to have a chance to reconnect.

I've known Earl Randall since I was a little girl. He was a wonderful man, and loved everyone, and the gospel. I was able to visit with him in November while I was home for the reunion.
I was in High School or college before I met the Gamache family, when they were baptized. Ron Gamache was a very hardworking humble man. I also was able to go to see him in November.
I'm grateful to have had these people in my life and happy for the knowledge that they are having happy reunions with there loved ones that went before them.

NEW AMI CRITTER

A couple of weeks ago I read an article about doing Amis in thread. It sounded interesting, so I decided to try. This is my 1st one, he is little and cute. They will get better with practice. It was  my 1st time trying safety eyes, which is an item not carried, or even heard of in any of the Phoenix crafts stores. After a trip to Hobby Lobby, who sent me to Michael's & Joann's, and a trip to Goodyear where Michael's told me to check with Hobby Lobby, I went home and found them on Etsy's 6060shop.
I had forgotten how much I like working with thread. I will be trying more of these and other critters in the future.
